My MDI GD PI experience

I am superstitious

The night before I couldn't determine which shirt,trouser and tie combination to wear before the interview.

I learnt to tie a tie for this interview as my old unlucky tie had been too unlucky.

I have a problem of coming late.

So I reached PAN Asia Continental at 9:20 AM, wasting 200 bucks on taxi fare

I was tensed and to ease up the tension I started chatting with everyone sitting beside me in the crowded room.

GD topic was Corruption leads to Economic Growth

I stared the topic with the definition of the Corruption and how we can give points gainst and for the motion.

Made few entries,but thought the interviewers didnt register them,so made some more,I guess few points were decent few was fish marketish.Overall a ok performance.

Now the PI,Interviewers were an Old Prof (OP) and probably an Young Alumni (YA)

OP:What does Sayan mean?

Me: Told how its a bengali term which means a well constructed steps to a waterbody

OP:laughing,So all your life people will trample over you!!

Me:Tried to explain that I am the means to something useful

OP and YA : still very amused by my name kept on mentioning the same thing

OP:So people will use you to commit suicide?

Me:launging,said I dont think so

OP:So you are from Haldia,where did your father work?

Me: Told

OP:Which company?

ME: Told

OP:Tell me 3 other refineries

ME:Told 4 and said I can name all of the

OP:Tell other companies in the same field

ME:told the govt and private companies

OP:What other companies in the value chain?

ME:Blank,not getting the question

OP:tried to make me understand that there are refining then there are marketing what else?

ME: Told about procurement of shell gas etc

OP:what are those companies called?

Me:Drilling?? :P not sure

OP:Hint : Columbus was a great ....

Me : Discoverer?

OP: no Explorer

OP:So is IOC making profits?

Me: Yes

OP: But they are making huge losses as well...

Me: Told about the regulation by the Govt of the oil prices

OP:What products govt can't regulate?

Me: Told few said may be fuel used in the Aeroplanes

OP : No not ATF as kerosene and ATF are almost equal in manufacturing cost

YA : what is the full form of ATF?

Me : Aeroplane Turbine Fuel

OP: corrected it

OP : So what other products

then a long discussion on that,he wanted to know about speed

YA : whats the internet address of CTS?

Me: Told

YA what is http,what is its full form?

ME: hyper **** transfer protocol :P

YA and OP : Laughing and asked not to guess

OP : Full form of TMC?

Me: Trinamool Congress???

OP why are you asking?

Me: Sir couldn't get the context from http to tmc

OP: Its a MBA interview what did u expect?...smiles all around

OP: Who was the father of Modern Bengal?How many assembly seats in Bengal?Questions on East and West Bengal?Cites in Bangladesh?Whose land area is bigger?

ME: Told...ended with Mirpur :P

OP:So are you watching the cricket matches?

Me: told TV Broke...some chit chat

YA: why diagonal is mentioned in the TV dimension?what is CRT?TFT?etc?

Me: Told some

OP:What other calls

OP:Are you active in social networking site?

ME:told about Facebook and Orkut

OP what about MBA specific site

ME:Told abt Pagal Guy and some chit chat

Total time about 15 mins
